The frame is made with 100% pine wood for a strong structure and 1 inch foam for cushion, yet light weight for easy moving. The top of the stairs are covered with your choice of many styles of faux fur, faux suede, or faux leather. You have the option of a second layer of faux fur.  If you only want the first layer to be your pet stairs select "Solid - No Second Layer". Faux Fur: This luxurious velboa fur has a smooth solid surface. It is 100% Polyester and can be washed with a wet soapy towel. Faux Suede: This soft to the touch micro suede is very glamorous.  Get when blending in to your modern or contemporary style decor.  Wash with damp towel. Faux Leather: This vinyl leather is great for ones who like to get dirty or marking your furniture.  Wash with soapy wet towel and let dry.  Blends in great with other leather furniture in your home.     The Pet Stairs are upholstered like furniture, it is not slip covered.
